I’ll admit it on this one, I was a little bored today and came up with an acrostic for the word AUTHOR. I would have done more, but was trying to make it to the halfway mark for book 2 in the Hartland series, which I did! Yay. Anyway, here is what I came up with.
Arrogance in one’s work. If we don’t believe in what we do, why should anyone else?
Unimaginable potential. Who knows what a writer’s brain will create?
Thoughtfulness. As we create our worlds and our characters, we have to be thoughtful of how they interact with one another and within the world.
Hardheaded. As authors, we are sometimes a little too hardheaded about our work. People will tell us something needs to be changed and our first instinct is to argue. It kind of goes hand in hand with the arrogance.
Original. Even if our work is similar to something else, it is still original. Things still differ. Some of us differ more than others. We all created something from within us.
Readers. I am fairly confident to say all authors are readers. We like to see what’s out there and we, too, enjoy a well told story.
